At America Diversa Inc., we believe in the power of community, solidarity, and equitable access to opportunities for all LGBTQIA+ migrants and refugees. That’s why we develop programs that respond to the real needs of those facing the challenge of starting over in the United States — with pride and hope.

Below are the five key programs we lead to support, empower, and transform lives:

1. Programa Puentes Arcoiris (Rainbow Bridges Program)

Initial support for newly arrived LGBTQIA+ migrants in New York City

This program provides comprehensive orientation for LGBTQIA+ migrants and asylum seekers who have recently arrived in the city. We offer personalized guidance, access to essential resources, and community support to help navigate the first steps in a new country with dignity.

Core components:

• Initial social orientation

• Community-based emotional support

• Donation of MetroCards for transportation

• Referrals to health, legal, and housing services

• Support in Spanish and with cultural sensitivity

When you arrive, you are not alone. We are your safe bridge.

2. Salud Entre Panas (Health Among Friends)

Comprehensive health with a community-based, culturally responsive, and stigma-free approach

An education and prevention program focused on sexual, mental, and physical health for Latinx LGBTQIA+ migrants. It promotes self-care, informed access to health services, and collective well-being through a peer-based and human rights approach.

Core components:

• Sexual health counseling (HIV, STIs, PrEP, and more)

• Referrals to medical services

• Peer-led educational workshops and talks

• Access to mental health resources without discrimination

Health among friends means caring for one another.

3. GALE LGBTQIA+

Support, Leadership, and Empowerment Groups for Latinx LGBTQIA+ individuals

This program promotes community leadership and personal growth for Latinx LGBTQIA+ people through safe spaces for dialogue, education, and community engagement.

Core components:

• Support groups facilitated by professionals and peers

• Empowerment and leadership workshops

• Peer mentorship and community support

From our voices, we build power and community.

4. Diversidad Vibrante (Vibrant Diversity)

Arts, culture, and visibility for our identities

A cultural program that promotes artistic expression, a celebration of our roots, and the positive visibility of Latinx LGBTQIA+ migrants. We use art as a tool for healing, pride, and resistance.

Core components:

• Percussion band “Sonidos de Orgullo” (Sounds of Pride)

• Intergenerational recreational space “Recréate LGBTQIA+”

5. Getting and Giving Program

Meaningful volunteering, from and for the community

This program invites LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies to volunteer in support, training, and community action initiatives. It promotes a culture of giving and receiving grounded in collective love and commitment.

Core components:

• Inclusive volunteer training

• Participation in organizational events and programs

• Peer mentorship

• Community service hours certification

• Recognition and growth opportunities
